The houses of Vitebsk residents are adjacent to the cemetery: “The burials are made close to the border of the sites, there is no fence, and groundwater from the churchyard floods our courtyards. Should you buy a house next to a cemetery? Is it possible to live near the cemetery

The theme of life near the cemetery was suggested by the new settlers of "Diadem" in the residential complex "Minsk-Mir": people came to the acceptance of the apartments and noticed that they were from the French balconies. “Come on, we still have a normal look, those who will live in the fifth“ Marina ”will no longer be lucky, - it is right next to the cemetery,” the shareholders of “Diadem” reassured themselves. “The cemetery looks like a green oasis, the trees will definitely not be cut down there,” retorted others.

website visited those who lives next to the oldest cemeteries in Minsk - Military and Kalvariysky, and found out what people think about such a neighborhood.

"Because of the cemetery, I bought an apartment cheaper"

Kozyrevskoe cemetery, which worries some equity holders of houses under construction in the residential complex "Minsk-Mir", was closed by the decision of the Minsk city executive committee in 2015.

Houses are being built close to the cemetery, but this does not bother potential new settlers. Apartments in the Minsk-Mir residential complex under construction are being sold out quickly.

It was formed a hundred years ago, in 1917, and covers an area of \u200b\u200bjust over five hectares. Ordinary local residents, as well as soldiers who died during the liberation of Minsk in 1944, found their rest here.

The Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Special Combine KBO" said that new burials at the Kozyrevskoye cemetery are prohibited, but there is an exception:

- In accordance with part five of Article 25 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Burial and Funeral Business" (hereinafter - the Law on Burial), burial in closed burial places is prohibited, with the exception of burial in free places within the allocated plots for burial, as well as subburial urns with ashes (ashes) next to a previously deceased spouse, close relatives or in-laws.

It is not surprising that on the day of the report, which was supposed to tell about the new building "Diadem", a small funeral ceremony was noticed at the Kozyrevskoye cemetery. There were three people at the grave, the priest was reading a prayer ... Hardly anyone noticed it behind the foliage of the trees.

In the group of equity holders "Marine" in "VKontakte" this neighborhood has already been discussed, but there was no storm. Potential newcomer Alexander put an end to the discussion of the topic when he wrote: “If near the cemetery, then for 800 [dollars per square meter], if further, then - 1000. Who else) I bought an apartment for 10 [thousand] bucks cheaper because of the cemetery ) And the windows to the courtyard.

« The cemetery was the best place to play. "

While future new settlers are discussing an unusual neighborhood on the forums, experienced people say: living with a view of the final resting place of Minsk residents is not scary! Since 1959, Neonila Kirillovna has been living in house number 1/9 at the intersection of Kozlova and Mikhailova streets. The windows of her apartment overlook the Military Cemetery.

Recall that the Military Cemetery was formed in the 1840s. Prominent statesmen, military men, scientists, representatives of the creative intelligentsia were buried here. After the liberation of Minsk from the Nazi invaders - members of the Minsk underground, soldiers who died during the liberation of the city. Many historically and aesthetically valuable monuments have been preserved at this cemetery, famous people (for example, Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas) are buried. For a long time it was the main elite cemetery of Belarus.

In 2015, the Military Cemetery, like Kozyrevskoye, was closed for burials by the decision of the Minsk City Executive Committee. But even here there is an exception in the form of burials in free places within the allocated areas, as well as the subburial of urns with ashes next to a previously deceased spouse, close relatives or in-laws.

“I've been living near the Military Cemetery for almost sixty years and I just don't notice it,” says Neonila Kirillovna. “We moved here from a communal apartment on Fabritsius Street, when dad, an employee of the BSSR Ministry of Agriculture, was given this apartment. At that time, our house was conditionally divided into two parts: the KGB workers lived in one, the agricultural workers lived in the other. My dad, Kirill Khabenko, was a famous agronomist, planted a garden for Stalin. He also wrote a book in which he advocated that there should be a Michurin garden in every collective farm. It’s already all cut down, but then, I remember, Antonovka in the gardens just shone! And dad loved the city, it was with his submission that linden trees appeared on the main avenue of the capital.

Neonila Kirillovna's daughter Natalya also shared her memories and said that in the 60s they had, then still quite children, the Military Cemetery was the best place to play.

- And we played in this cemetery, and even sunbathed in the summer - and did not feel any fear, - says Natalya. - Last funeral with honors here were, in my opinion, in 1961. I remember that because they were shooting in front of the windows - they were burying some military man. I also remember Easter very much in Soviet times, the celebration of which was then banned. To prevent young people from entering the Alexander Nevsky Church on Easter, a police cordon stood around the Military Cemetery all night. I remember how, out of curiosity, we tried to squeeze through the cordon to see the service in the church and the procession. None of this came of it, because there was still a high fence behind the cordon - so we had no chance of seeing anything.

Neonila Kirillovna said that she is now happy with the way the Military Cemetery looks.

View from the apartment window

- It's good that in last years burials were put in order. Previously, there were always homeless people who came to spend the night at our door. Now this is no longer there. In general, Minsk has become very beautiful and clean in recent years.

Georgy Arkadyevich lives even closer to the Military Cemetery, at 21 Krasnozvezdnaya Street.

Apartment windows rather resemble large frames in which the autumn landscape is frozen. His granddaughter Valentine tells:

We decided that we would get married there, - nods towards the churchin and Alexander Nevsky Valentine. The girl recently arrived in Minsk from Germany to introduce her grandfather to her fiancé. She jumpedeats on the bed, moveblinks the curtain and laughs at the reaction of recent guests. - Many are horrified, when they see that we live almost in a cemetery... And I like it, and the groom too! I especially love it when the bells ring. Here at all amazingly nice place.

Valentina's grandfather said that “the apartment near the cemetery it was a matter of chance. "

- In the 70s, my wife noticed an announcement on the post where they offered an apartment exchange - and we decided and move here. It was a deliberate choice, the cemetery did not scare us. Mainly employees of the construction trust lived here, but there were also security officials. My neighbor Chistyakov, who, unfortunately, no longer exists, was the deputy head of the Minsk regional police department.

Georgy Arkadyevich does not want to change anything in his apartment. Asks the granddaughter not to spoil the atmosphere with repairs, not to touch the library, which he has been collecting for 50 years. According to Valentina, filmmakers often rent her grandfather's room.

For a long time, according to Georgy Arkadievich, local residents were bothered by bums and drunks who practically lived at the Military Cemetery e.

It's good that the city eventually brought order here. Now it is quiet here, as in the village. Once the tenants even planted fruit trees around the house. I remember how a neighbor boasted: "Arkadyevich, look how many buckets of pears he collected!" And the cemetery? No one here is afraid of him, it is inactive. We can say that this is no longer a cemetery. A gorgeous green space.

"The best view of Kalwaria is at night"

From the cemeteries preserved in Minsk Kalvariyskoe is the oldest. It was founded in 1807, according to unofficial sources - much earlier.

Initially Calvary cemetery served the Catholics of Minsk, later here they buried prisoners of the French, Austrians, Swiss. IN soviet years The Kalvariyskoye cemetery became a citywide one. Now it is an object of historical and cultural heritage.

- Until now, the decisions of local authorities to close the cemetery "Kalvariyskoye" have not been made, - said in the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Special Combine KBO". - At the specified cemetery, burials are currently carried out in the traditional way (coffin) of deceased relatives (in-laws) in free places within the previously provided burial site, burial in the traditional way or urns with ashes after cremation of the indicated deceased in an existing grave, urns with ashes after cremation in a columbarium (only in previously reserved niches).

Four skyscrapers at 2 Pritytskogo Street were built across the street from Kalvariya.

People who bought apartments here made their choice consciously. And the view from the window, they say, is satisfied.

- Kalvariyskoye cemetery is already a historical place, - tells Igor... He and his family live on the eleventh floor of one of the skyscrapers. - In autumn, when there is no more foliage, Calvaria is especially beautiful at night when the backlight is clearly visible church (Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. - Approx. TUT.BY). And even when guests come, they love "Freeze" in the window. By the way, the cemetery can be seen from all four rooms of our apartment - and this does not bother us at all. Besides, we are doctors, our psyche is strong.

In recent years, the rapid capitalization of the entire country and the commercialization of everything that is bad and good, the pursuit of super profits is increasingly leading to cases of suppression or distortion of reliable data on the admissibility of the construction of residential buildings in various territories.

For example, the construction of residential buildings in former cemeteries, graves, or cattle burial grounds, as well as at unacceptable distances to restricted exclusion zones and sanitary zones. Permits for the construction of residential buildings in cemeteries and nearby should not be issued under any pretext!

"Bad places"

"Bad places", let's call it that, are, first of all, places of mass graves, burial grounds of both people and infected animals, former cemeteries, mass graves, bacterial, chemically, radiologically contaminated territories, burial sites of industrial waste.

If you know that your house or land plot is located in this zone, this is a reason to think carefully. And the point here is far from "mysticism", but the real danger of exceeding the threshold of permissible concentrations of certain harmful substances and impurities.

However, no one canceled mysticism, or rather, did not fully study the scientific basis of such "miracles".

But from what has been studied, we can say that in such places a negative impact on the health of people living here occurs every day.

Is it possible to build a house on a former cemetery?

The fact is that all graves have their own specifications its existence. These are the operating conditions for this burial.

These TUs should clearly describe the time parameters, that is, when this land plot can be used for another purpose. All other technical regulations should also be indicated, that is, the conditions for maintaining a safe state of an object.

So, for example, it is necessary to constantly conduct geomonitoring of these sites, in order to prevent the washing out of harmful substances by atmospheric or ground water, that is, to regularly monitor changes in the level of groundwater, terrain, and the level of the earth's surface. All this requires certain costs and efforts. Who does all this with us? .. Do you believe in IT ??

The existence of some cemeteries must be in the hundreds of years, but it is no secret to anyone that with each change of power, a lot changes!

Any cadastral passport for land prescribes the permitted type of use of this land plot.

It can be agricultural land, a plot for individual construction, a summer cottage, an industrial plot, land for parks and squares. The local administration has the right to issue a building permit on land plots only for the relevant purpose.

Answering the question: "Is it possible to build a house in a cemetery?", We can say the following.

Of course, there are not so many such “bad places” where construction is completely prohibited or permitted with limited restrictions, but often this issue becomes relevant, since these places are located in large industrial cities.

In cities with a long history, such as Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, because with the intensive development of territories, there is a shortage of land for building, which must be filled with something.

Land scarcity affects not only the cost of housing, but also the development of cities and agglomerations in general. The same problem is described in the material about toxic waste and burial.

And yet why is it allowed to build on graves, cemeteries, burial grounds and in other prohibited areas?

Such a question can already be classified as a philosophical one and polemicize over it for a very long time. Within the framework of this material, let us note the well-known statement that progress cannot be stopped.

The specific circumstances in which it becomes possible to carry out construction in cemeteries require investigation in each individual case. In this material, however, we will allow ourselves to give advice to talk with old-timers and delve into the history of the city, if you do not want to make a former cemetery your place of residence!

Whether it's about superstition, scary stories, or simply not wanting to constantly think about death, but the truth is this: in Russia, few decide to buy a house next to the cemetery... Abroad, this is a completely normal situation, it does not scare anyone, and nothing supernatural happens in such houses, but Russians are still even wary of the idea. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of buying such a house?

Why is it worth

  • You can hide from the cemetery ... Let's start with the most obvious plus - you don't have to look at the cemetery every day. If you are buying a plot, you can initially plan the house so that the windows do not overlook the cemetery. If you buy a ready-made house, you can connect your imagination and use the area between the cemetery and your home - for example, for planting trees. Thus, a small grove will obstruct an unpleasant view. Of course, it takes time for trees to grow, but you do not move in for one day either! As a temporary measure, you can use curtains - and still not see the unpleasant sight.
  • ... or protect yourself... Considering the problem from the Orthodox point of view, one cannot say that the church strictly forbids settling near the cemetery. No, this does not disturb the peace of the deceased and is not even considered a sin - nevertheless, negative energy can affect the life of the inhabitants of the house and spoil it, attracting misfortune. There is salvation against this - to acquire a church amulet, consecrated in the temple. If you are not religious, again, there is nothing to worry about.
  • The cost... Although this advantage is not always obvious, but it is so - it can sometimes be more difficult to buy a land plot on the territories specially designated for summer cottages than on the territory next to the cemetery. Even if the difference is negligible, it can save you a lot of prejudice and save you a little money.
  • Such neighbors should not be feared... Even putting aside black humor, we can say with precision that there are much less annoying neighbors around the cemetery. This means less loud music in the middle of the night, less land disputes and conflicts. In addition, there is a possibility that the area next to your house will not be occupied - potential owners will be scared away by the proximity of the cemetery. No wonder they say that one should not be afraid of the dead, but of the living.
  • Children are not afraid that adults... If you don't tell children scary stories about the cemetery, they will not even think that there is something bad in it. The mystical is possible, but shouldn't it be exciting, sparking interest in research? Of course, there is nothing fun about running through the graves (and, frankly, it is disrespectful), but after carrying out the necessary educational work, you can fearlessly send your children for a walk in the cemetery or next to them. In other words, to fear that the neighborhood will affect the child's psyche is not always thorough. Many of those who grew up near the cemetery speak of their childhood without religious fear.
  • It all depends on the attitude to it... You will not be surprised if someone tells you that people are different: someone gets goosebumps from the cemetery, someone pacifies, someone does not care at all, the main thing is that the site is cheaper. If you are sure that such a neighborhood does not mean anything like that, nothing should stop you - after all, it all depends on your personal perception and superstition. I do not want to settle with a cemetery - do not settle if there are other options.

Why not worth it

  • Potential violation of the law... According to the law of the Russian Federation, the cemetery is considered a sanitary zone, and, depending on its size, construction on the adjacent territory is prohibited. This means that before erecting a house (and possibly before acquiring a territory), you need to carefully read the size of the sanitary zone and the prohibitions imposed in this regard. Otherwise, there is a possibility of committing a crime.
  • Criminal events are possible... Although, in general, the attractiveness of cemeteries for sectarians and various criminal groups is exaggerated and multiplied by mass culture, even if something happens in the cemetery, it is hardly every day. Nevertheless, it is still worth asking in advance (at least for the sake of peace of mind) the situation around this cemetery - to listen to what the locals say and make a decision based on this.
  • Permanent funeral processes... It is psychologically difficult to attend a funeral, but sometimes it is just as hard to watch. Even if the cemetery is nearby, and not in the very closest neighborhood, from time to time you will still stumble upon grieving people and even whole funeral processions. If the very thought of death disgusts you and spoils your mood, it is better to refrain from such a neighborhood.
  • The relationship between cemetery and groundwater... There is nowhere to go - coffins buried in the ground inevitably affect the ecosystem, affecting the composition of groundwater. It is this water that you will have to use: drink, water the beds with it ... the problem is easily solved by installing a drainage system, but if there is no desire to do this, then you should refuse to buy.
  • Inability to grow a vegetable garden... Even if we assume that you have installed a drainage system and do not take water from the soil, you still interact with it - for example, when you start planting something on your site. The close proximity of the cemetery also means that products grown in such soil can absorb decomposition products. The big question is, is it worth eating such food, or is it better to abstain? The problem is solved very simply: either not to break a vegetable garden, or not to buy such a plot.

Conclusion

It is true that those who if a doubt about a purchase has settled in your heart, you should not make it - otherwise there is a risk of regretting her for the rest of her life. After all, the ritual atmosphere around the cemetery, the very feeling of nearness of death, can negatively affect mood. Therefore, it is possible that you need to build or buy a house on such a plot only if you are 100% sure of it.

What Muscovites feel near large city graveyards

What kind of neighbors does a city dweller dream of? That's right - about the quiet and calm. But the quietest neighbors of all possible Muscovites still do not suit ... A poll recently conducted by realtors showed that more than 38% of respondents named the cemetery under their windows one of the most serious shortcomings of housing.

Whether we are talking only about the existing new cemeteries, or the old ones in the central districts of Moscow also fell out of favor - is not specified. The MK correspondent spoke about the specifics of life near the churchyard with those who are not embarrassed by such a neighborhood.

“I was upset by the view from the window of the cemetery. Uncomfortable! " “The windows overlooked the cemetery. Even plaques from the 4th floor are visible. Opening the windows is scary and it’s uncomfortable to sleep ”. “View of the cemetery, and they didn't even warn about it! And we are newlyweds! " This idea, formulated in different ways, passed through half of the reviews about the hotel that I chose when planning my vacation ... And every time I wanted to understand: why is it terrible?

The cemetery is old, even famous. Neighbors are clearly quiet - they do not row, do not drink under the windows ... Why can it be uncomfortable here? As you know, we will all be there ...

According to the latest surveys conducted by realtors, about 38 percent of Muscovites call the cemetery one of the most unpleasant neighborhood options. As MK's own poll has shown, not every cemetery is, first of all, about actively operating churchyards, where hearses come several times a day. This is really true - even the strongest nervous system will crash ...

I live on the way to the Mitinskoye cemetery, although not near the very gates. I must say that this puts pressure on the psyche: when hearses drive past your windows every morning ... Now, it is true, they began to bury there less often, but this does not save: there is also a Mitinsky crematorium, so hearses are still going ... I'm used to it, but sometimes it leads to gloomy thoughts, '' said 40-year-old Dmitry.

Formally, Moscow cemeteries are divided into two categories: open - those where anyone can get a burial site ... hmm ... newly deceased - and closed, where new burials are allowed only on related sites. And almost all the cemeteries located inside the Moscow Ring Road are closed today - which, however, does not negate the chance of new graves appearing there. True, rarely. For the "free" burial of Muscovites, only two cemeteries are now open - Perepechinskoe (Solnechnogorsk district) and Alabushevskoe (Zelenograd). The rest - only to relatives.

A very important question: which cemetery? If with an active ongoing burial, then it is very difficult. My psyche would definitely not have withstood all these processions under the windows. Once they offered to rent an apartment in the VDNKh area with the prospect of walking to the metro along the Alekseevsky wall. I didn't want to ... But one of our friends lives near the old Donskoy and calmly walks along the alleys with a stroller. And nothing, - says a Muscovite named Tatiana.

By the way, walks with strollers and even small children in cemeteries are far from such a rare "game" as especially impressionable comrades might think. The same stories are told about the Kalitnikovskoye cemetery or about Izmailovskoye - in general, about the "quiet" ones. Moreover, as Moscow mothers assure, such walks - great way gently and unobtrusively discuss the topic of death with the child.

All my life I have lived here and will never trade my area for anything! - stated Alla Stepanovna categorically, whose windows overlook the old Preobrazhenskoye cemetery. They have not been buried here for a long time, only if they are allowed to put the urn in a related grave. - In 1995, my grandmother was buried there, I can often visit her ... Mom, thank God, is still alive, but I hope that both me and my mother will be able to lie there when the time comes. And the granddaughter goes to school here, too. We go with her to our Irina Grigorievna (grandmother. - " MK»), I tell Polinka about the history of the family. That's right: where we live, we'll go to bed.

The picture is almost perfect: quiet neighbors, family history, native graves ... But maybe in order to calmly relate to the cemetery under the windows, you need to spend your whole life next to it, like Alla Stepanovna?

In my practice, there have been cases when clients themselves asked to find housing for them closer to some well-known metropolitan cemetery. Of course, if such a neighborhood will embarrass or plunge potential buyers into despondency (say, they recently experienced a bereavement), then the option should be abandoned. In general, there are quite a few people who find more pluses than minuses in the vicinity of the cemetery.

First, there is a large green area next to the house (and the trees often completely hide the graves), and some people like to walk there. Secondly, buyers who purchase an apartment near some famous cemetery (like Novodevichy, Donskoy, Danilovsky, Vvedensky) believe that this is how they increase their status - because now they will live next to an important historical landmark. Thirdly, the presence of a cemetery next to the house is usually a guarantee that new multi-storey buildings will not be erected at this place, - Mikhail Kulikov, director of the Department of the secondary market of INCOM-Real Estate, explained in a conversation with MK correspondent.

The cemetery on the master plan is a green area

When I was buying an apartment in the Troparevo district, one of the options was on Nikulinskaya Street, overlooking the conserved cemetery. The owners were ready to throw off up to 500,000 rubles for the view from the window, - urbanist Pyotr Ivanov told MK. For some, such a deal would be successful, but for others it would be unacceptable.

It seems that such a step is justified - if only to sell ... However, real estate sales specialists, with whom the correspondent of "MK" discussed the topic, refute: the cemetery outside the window is not a reason for a discount.

In my experience, most sellers are reluctant to give buyers a discount because of the proximity to the cemetery, especially when the property is at least a short distance from it. And if the buyer continues to insist on a discount, the owner can, in response, list the advantages of living near the cemetery. In the event that the seller nevertheless agrees to provide a discount (for example, the windows of the apartment overlook the crematorium), it does not exceed 2-3% of the transaction, - continues Mikhail Kulikov.

According to him, the owners of apartments near the cemetery, who want to get rid of them, need to be patient and wait for "their" client - our city is full of people who will not be embarrassed by such a neighborhood. The representative of another real estate agency, in turn, believes that the discount can reach 10 percent of the market price - but only if it comes to the sale of secondary housing, and provided that the apartment is sold with a view directly to the churchyard.

For example, there is a cemetery near one of the residential complexes of the Moscow region. Naturally, many buyers are confused by such a neighborhood. However, the manager explains to the client that the developer will build a high fence by the time the object is put into operation, so the shareholder will only see the crowns of the trees. In addition, in the near future, another house will not be built under your windows. As a result, this kind of work with arguments has a positive effect. Moreover, even on the general plan of the district, the cemetery is designated as a green zone, which in principle corresponds to the truth. If the cemetery is old, then from the windows of neighboring houses it is often indistinguishable from an ordinary city park, ”said Maria Litinetskaya, managing partner of the Metrium company.

The concerns expressed by potential buyers are usually in the realm of emotions and sensations, not real risks. “It’s uncomfortable,” “I’m scared,” “I don’t want to remember the loss” - these are the arguments you hear most often.

I don't care what kind of cemetery: old, new, famous, or a village churchyard! This is a cemetery - period! The further it is from me, the better! - 27-year-old Nadezhda categorically declared. - I really need the dead to appear at night!

Several months ago, she was offered favorable terms for renting an apartment in the Tagansky district, and it was the proximity of the old Rogozhsky cemetery that made the girl refuse. If a person is already convinced that the dead will appear to him at night, it is extremely difficult to convince him ...

The fear of death is one of the most widespread, and the proximity of the cemetery aggravates this fear. However, a person's attitude can change. I know that most often people who have not yet had to bury their loved ones so vehemently deny any reminders of death, - psychologist Anastasia Aleksandrova explained in a conversation with the correspondent of MK. - For them, this is something terrible and unknown ... But when people have "their" graves, they treat the cemetery in a completely different way: just as an integral part of life. Or even as an island of tranquility.

Indeed, there are not so few people who specially go to the cemetery (more likely to their own grandmother, and not to the abstract one) to sit in silence and collect their thoughts. True - and much worse! - cemeteries often attract not only thinkers, but also a completely different contingent.

Who are they afraid of, walking dead? They are not afraid of those! - Pavel Vasilyevich laughs unkindly, whose windows overlook the old Miusskoye cemetery. - Yes, that's right, they haven't buried here for a long time. But only in the nineties, when all sorts of subcultures became fashionable, two days later, on the third day, funny guys came here ... Goths, Satanists, some other evil spirits - I really don't know! And be healthy from them! You used to go for a walk with the dog late in the evening - and you met such a handsome man in black, hello ... It would be better if ghosts walked, honestly.

Are you sure there is no cemetery here?

According to Maria Litenetskaya, an apartment next to the cemetery is a very common situation.

On the 1921 Moscow map, these cemeteries (rather large!) Are still intact.

As a rule, buyers have a negative attitude towards the cemeteries still in operation for obvious reasons. In a situation where new burials are prohibited, the presence of a cemetery under the windows is not so critical. We have not had any cases when buyers would refuse an apartment just because of such an unfavorable neighborhood. Still, before calling the seller and scheduling a viewing of the apartment, additional preparation is carried out, and people know that the house is by no means near the park, explains Litenetskaya.

Yes, yes, not by the park ... Or maybe just by the park? Let's remember that there are more than 70 graveyards in Moscow ... And here we need an important clarification: official graveyards.

We live in a city with almost a thousand years of history. Here, on every square meter, someone died or someone was buried. Moreover, this is relevant both for the city center and for relatively new districts - Troparevo, Chertanovo, Medvedkovo - after all, in each of these villages there was a rural churchyard. Well, how do we know that our house was not built in its place?

Inhabitants of some neighborhoods, by the way, may not doubt it for a second at all - just look at the old maps. For example, in the Maryina Roshcha area, the Festivalny park was created on the site of the Lazarevskoye cemetery - they were buried here since the end of the 17th century, and many were buried - both the poor and those who died of the plague ... Only in 1932 the territory was converted into a park - and now it is here children are happily walking. I wonder if parents from among those who are afraid of cemeteries like fire knew about this, would they change the route of walks?

By the way, this is what caused the regional conflict on Sokol. The square at the intersection of Alabyan Street and Maly Peschaniy Pereulok is the former Arbatets cemetery. This is part of the old All Saints cemetery, where the soldiers of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878, the Russian-Japanese War and the First World War were buried. The last burials date back to the 1960s. After that, it was decided to remove all the gravestones and lay out a public garden on the site of the cemetery. They broke it, but they still argue about the ethics of the playground - is it appropriate, on the bones ...

Nothing reminds of them on the 2019 map.

Another famous cemetery that disappeared from the map of Moscow is Dorogomilovskoye, which was located between Kutuzovsky Prospect and the Taras Shevchenko embankment. They stopped burying there in the 1940s, and now they have built an office center. By the way, very close by, on the street of 1812, there was a small Filevskoye cemetery - with the same fate. So it turns out: formally, there seems to be no cemetery under the window ... but meanwhile it exists!

The old cemetery was spread on a high hill, even the sloping slopes kept someone's remains. As soon as a good shower passed, yellowish skulls and other parts of mortal bodies buried one on one began to peep out from under the bare roots. The cemetery had not been buried for a long time (probably they thought that “six floors” would be enough), and it rose majestically in the middle of the village. Houses were built around it, and sometimes only a small path or fence separated the city of the dead from the village of the living. A young family lived in such a house, which was engaged in raising pigs and subsequently marketing meat. The family had two twin girls, seven years old.
Somehow a grief happened in the village: one family's son died at the age of five, but how this death happened is still remembered with shudder ...
His father's brother died, and the whole family went to see him off on his last journey, of course, they took the boy too. He went up to the coffin to look at his uncle, and grabbed the edge with his little hands, stood on his toes and ... under the coffin the leg of a chair broke kept to the word), and he collapsed right on the boy. The numb uncle who flew out of the coffin covered the child, spewing out streams of stinking liquid ... Uncle had been a core from childhood, was registered, so the corpse was not opened and was not taken to the morgue. Accordingly, “ inner world”He remained untouched. The boy screamed wildly and died of a broken heart ...
The parents decided not to bury the child far away, and despite the ban on burials, they dug a grave for him in the old cemetery, right between the grave of his great-grandmother and the fence of the pig breeder ...
The season for the transition of pigs to lard and meat was opened, they were cut for three days, then they were handed over or sold on the market themselves. The rest was cooked for the winter in the form of stew, sausages and saltisons. The weather was hot, a lot of blood disappeared, and what they did not sell and did not let themselves be sausage, they gave to the dogs. The enterprising father of the family thrust a bowl of intestines and blood into the hole of the fence right into the cemetery and went about his business, and the dogs, smelling the smell of fresh flesh, made a terrible fight. The cup poured onto the ground, everything else was stretched in different directions, and all this happened at the grave of a long-suffering boy, crushed by a dead uncle. All the evidence was naturally eaten at once, the remnants of the blood were absorbed into the ground and the parents who came could only complain about the revelry of the dogs who trampled the child's grave.
And after a while, the twins began to complain that someone scares them at night. The complaints became more frequent and the father decided to spend the night in the nursery.
It was midnight, the moon was shining brightly in the dark sky, somewhere nearby was crying a bittern. Suddenly the man heard the front door slam. He walked carefully to the nursery door and froze. Someone's squelching footsteps came from the corridor, as if someone were walking through puddles. The footsteps approached, the handle on the door turned and it slowly opened. The man felt the hair on his head move .. Before him stood a dead boy, in his hands he held a wit from the fence, and his whole body was covered with blood.
-Oh Lord! -Exclaimed the man, and at the same time, the boy drove a spire into his leg and, turning, disappeared into the corridor. His wife rushed to the wild screams of her husband, the frightened children burst into tears, and even the workers who were helping him at that time asked to be in the summer kitchen.
In the morning with a bandaged leg, the man went to the cemetery. He did not find anything suspicious there, the grave was in place, the monument too. The night accident looked like a dream, if not for the punctured leg ...
But he was not going to give up, the next night he put the children in his and his wife's bedroom, and he went to bed again in the nursery. But midnight passed, and the house was still, the roosters were already crowing, and the visitor did not appear. Delighted by this circumstance, my father returned to his bedroom and almost went crazy ... His whole family was butchered just as he butchered pigs and lay in a heap on the bed. The man was imprisoned for the murder of his family, but he did not stay long, hanged himself in a cell ...
The house fell into decay and soon the whole yard was overgrown with grass, the fence collapsed and the borders of the cemetery moved closer. Dogs sit on the boy's grave as usual, but for some reason every day there is one torn to pieces ...
